Detroit...Trip part 1

Our first drive was to Billings to catch a layover in denver, where Brent beat me repeatedly in games of speed, and then on to Detroit (cheaper than flying to Canada for my sisters wedding, the whole reason for the trip.)We get to Detroit and do some sight seeing after a long process of trying to get our rental car. Let's just say we didn't start the trip off so smoothly but learned some good lessons about the city. Walking path by the river.
I call this the UFO....but it's a fountain I'm sure it looks gorgeous in the summer.

ON top of the parking garage city and river view.

They had some really old building with beautiful architecture.
We just happened to be in Detriot during the biggest International auto show. A lady offered us a free ticket I was a little worried about being arressted at first but she didn't sell it to us so anyway one of us was in free so it was worth it to go for the price of one. It felt like I was waling into a futuristic world...keep in mind I'm from Greybull and we're about a decade back in time anyway.

Matched my shirt I had to get a shot.

Some funky looking car pod things!

Don't I look like I'm going back to the future? :)

Overall we had a nice night in Detroit back to the airport to pic up the rest of the crew and drive on to Canada...

Kids are soooo cute when...

They're sleeping!

They were having Quiet time in their room and very rarely do they fall asleep anymore and never when they're together.
A couple Sunday's ago our family was asked to sing in sacrament meeting so we planned it around the kids and "I'm trying to be like Jesus" Then I got asked to give a talk on Worshipping through Hymns it was great I could talk about our experience learning this song and what we learned from it and how it's helped our family and I did and then we got up to sing. Cloe started with her part and then Dakota with hers and then we began to sing together but the microphone which had not been their at all of our practices began to be a problem and my children were pushing each other back and forth while singing, "...be gentle and loving in deed and in thought..." Bishop said, "only the Casey family would have a brawl up at the podium." Needless to say we were entertaining although I'm not quiet sure it was the way we intended it to be.

Another New Year!

Christmas Events!

I made the girls matching dresses totes and headbands for christmas this year. Kota liked her purple headband more than her matching one. I love how paige is sporting the outfit.

Here is all the mess from christmas fun! We wrote santa a letter to come on christmas eve since brent had to work on christmas day and it was a great day. As you look at the pictures you can tell Paige's favorite thing she got from christmas was candy, and I have a lot more pictures with chocolate drool.

The girls got each other gifts this year it was so sweet to see each other open each others present there were thank-yous and hugs and loves. It was so sweet, one of my favorite parts of the holidays this year.

Tooth Fairy?

So Cloe came in to me this morning and said, "Guess What Mom?" I said, "What?" "That Tooth Fairy Keeps Turning off our Christmas tree lights at night." "That silly Tooth Fairy." I couldn't break her the news it was just too cute, and I laughed and said, "that silly tooth fairy."

We have been busy getting ready for christmas! Doing our 25 days of christmas, christmas everyday in december. We got to go to the basin City arts center with Cloe's school and watch a christmas show, we've been making cookies, singing carols, reading the story of Jesus's Birth, watching christmas movies, making gifts, wrapping gifts, and enjoying each other. We helped decorate the gym for our ward christmas party as bethlehem and the girls dressed up like angels, Lindsay's version of abstract angels with colorful clothes and ribbons with bows for their halo's. (all the other ones were white :) One of the fifteen year olds in my Sunday School class said she looks funny with that big bow in the middle of her forehead, "I like it!" I said and I still do I think it was cute improvising costumes from our house! :)

We went galavanting the woods for our tree this year and Paige and Kota were trailing and getting stuck in and wet in the deep snow, so finallly I just said to Cloe and Dad, who had made it farther than us, cut one down honey we are going home. So this is the tree we got, It was prettier before we had to cut all the bottom branches off so that it would fit in the house.
Merry Christmas to All!

Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving at my Dad's house there were about forty people there, Dorothy had most of her family there it was a nice day. I got to spent some nice time with my Dad, that was fun to go shopping with him too.
At Messy Me at the Rec center we got to see a real turkey for thanksgiving. Paige did not want to leave that turkey alone, the other girls found their feather and decorated their paper bag turkey's as well.
Since Brent had to work on thanksgiving and I had some thanksgiving appropriate food I made a thanksgiving dinner at home and had everyone draw a picture of what they were thankful for. It was a nice evening, the girls put on a music show for us and sang and danced and Dad gave the girls horsy rides, I love how paige is about to fall off, and there was even some football to watch. It was fun.
I made a bunch of pies for us and for the pie bake off at chruch, mine did not win a prize, I can't believe everyone was afraid of the cheesecake pumkin pie. Anyway, it was fun to do, very theraputic trying to get all the crusts to look just right I even made a couple from scratch. I also was suppossed to bring some to my dad's and forgot them in the fridge, so then they ended up at Grandma and Grandpa's for our thanksgiving with them. We met Brent to go there Friday and it was a nice trip there too we even got to see Tangled the new disney princess movie, a must see, very cute! That was our fourth thankgiving dinner this year, we also had a thanksgiving dinner at my mom's house when we went to Casper. Thanks to all for spoil us this year.
I really enjoy making pies as I said it's kind of theraputic and when my kids get a bit older I will love showing them how, but for now I let them make their own mini pies in a muffin tin with the left over pie crust, cherry pie filling, and oat and brown sugar on top, they really had fun with those and it was a nice dessert for after dinner.
