Create

Aunt Polly sent me this book it's called the Creative Family by Amanda Blake Soule, I really like it. She also has a blog www.amandasoule.com. It has been inspirting me to let me kids be a bit more messy and create without worrying about mess, and it also helped me to see many different ways that I can creativly reuse things that I have and spend less money for things that I need or things that we can do to spice things up. Cloe had a plain pink shirt that we got at Walmart for a couple dollars and I had this old necklace that I didn't want to get rid of because LeeAnn made it for me but it didn't fit anymore so I sewed it right on her shirt and I do think that it makes her shirt have a bit more personality and I reused something that I wanted to keep and didn't want to throw away.

Happy Valentines Day

We had a great Valentines Day! Lot's of love was shared to us and we enjoyed sharing some. We made some valentine pillows for some of the girls friends and cards for family and I hope that the girls were able to learn something about giving and showing that you care for someone. We also made heart shaped cookies made with Jello they were not only cute but delicious. Dad got the girls some candy and Aunt Polly sent some wonderful love stories that we've been enjoying this season. I had to get the girls some matching tights to make their christmas dresses turn Valentines and all I can say about the pictures I got is oh what fun. I love these girls. My Husband was also very thoughtful. We have a tradition of getting each other a movie each year and we exchanged those and we went to the stake valentines dinner it was very nice. We also made steack and macaroni yesterday. It's been a great weekend I'm so happy that Brent finally has a Holiday and a weekend off. Yeah!!!

Happy Valentine's Day to all!

Just Cuddle

So since my new Indian name is "the Finisher" I have decided to post an actual finished project. And since the last post Featured BYU I will now feature the team of our house the Wyoming Cowboys. This is Brent's Bday, father's day, and accademy Quilt (It took me awhile), I do feel a real sense of accomplishment with this project and it is a really good cuddling Blanket and my Girls are really good cuddlers too!
The only part that I had to have someone else do was the Embroidery. Wyoming Embroidery did it, I think they did a good job and they are an official Wyoming Cowboy embroiderer so that's kind of cool. I got some good advice from my mother-in-law about how to sew quilt it together. I got some good advice from the Quilt store ladies on making my own pattern. I learned how to do the invisible stitch from my mother to stitch up the pillow, I can't believe I never knew that before. Next time I would pay more attention to my cuts and take more time when I finished the edges. Brent of course was the inspiration and had some ideas for what he wanted. It did however take me a long time and was a really far stretch from the baby blankets and rag quilts I have done, but for my first big project I really thought it wasn't bad.
